Advocating For Youth Valerie Wiener has devoted herself to finding solutions for issues that affect our youth. She has chaired both the Legislative Study Committee on Juvenile Justice and the Legislative Commission on School Safety and Juvenile Violence. Also, in the 2003-04 legislative interim, Valerie chaired the Legislative Study Committee on Obesity.
Legislation That Will Make A Positive Difference - Creating the Nevada Youth Legislative Issues Forum for 9th through 12th graders to teach the democratic principles and encourage their civic involvement. - Making it easier for students to receive and repay loans for higher education. - Preserving and expanding the amount of time allocated for physical education and physical activity for students. - Urging coordinated efforts to combat obesity, especially as it affects young people, through better nutritional education.
