Valerie Wiener has spearheaded important legislative measures that help Nevada families by:

- Establishing a statewide program to educate people about healthy choices for physical fitness, proper nutrition, and the prevention of obesity and chronic diseases.

- Mandating hospitals to provide patients with information about less expensive health care services.

- Requiring complete background checks on drug wholesalers to keep contaminated and illegal drugs out of our communities.

- Authorizing judges to require juvenile delinquents to make final restitution.

- Protecting consumers against identity theft resulting from illegal credit card use.

- Preventing school violence by creating procedures to respond to violent acts on campus and at school activities.

- Creating the statewide Arthritis Prevention and Control Program.
